Around 24 hours ago, rumours began circulating that French giants Paris Saint Germain would be looking at Spurs Head Coach Andre Villas-Boas as their chosen replacement for Carlo Ancelotti. The same stories pointed to a buy out clause in AVB’s contract at a price that the cash rich Ligue 1 Champions would have no problems in meeting.
For once, the Gareth Bale story was taken off the front page as every newspaper and website picked up on the rumour. Would Andre take the bait and where would leave Spurs after a promising first season under the Portuguese?
However, speaking on TalkSport, French journalist Erik Bielderman postulated that PSG may head for the other half of North London in an attempt to prise Arsene Wenger away from the Emirates.
“The French public dream about Wenger,” Bielderman said.
In reality, neither move seems likely and it’s hoped that the AVB rumours disappear as quickly as the stories linking him to the vacant manager’s job at Real Madrid. However, it may take a few days for them to go away before the relentless Gareth Bale reports roll in once again.
AVB got un finished buseness at the lane yet.
