There’s no official update from the club as yet but pictures on Tottenham’s Facebook account yesterday showed a smiling Aaron Lennon in full training. The obvious conclusion is that the right winger is fit and ready to reclaim his place for Sunday’s game against Aston Villa but will Andre Villas-Boas make room for the 26 year old.

Earlier during the International break AVB said,

“I’m extremely happy. It’s been a long time out for a player of Aaron’s importance and the team is delighted with his return.

“He’s proved year after year how important he is for us and to have him back is a major plus.”

At the time Andre wouldn’t be drawn on whether Aaron would be available for the Aston Villa clash but those pictures suggested he is ready for his first appearance since Crystal Palace on the opening day of the season. Furthermore, AVB’s comments suggest he’s an obvious starter.

Since that opening day, much has happened at White Hart Lane with the arrival of Erik Lamela and the emergence of Andros Townsend. Can Aaron Lennon fight off all challenges and reclaim his starting slot on the right wing at Villa Park on Sunday?

  1. Lennon is proven, year after year.
Townsend is on a hot run, for country.
Lamela is a potential for Spurs, and he must shoot out fast.
I suggest Rotate Both Lamela And Lennon. As Lennon is just returning, and not to overstrain him.
Lamela will SETTLE DOWN, and anytime now, when he ‘ Clicks’ he will find his bearings, with his team members.
