Back in July we picked up on media links with 19 year old Brazilian ‘wonderkid’ Neílton Meira Mestzk – or Neilton for short – as the player was being widely linked with a move to a Premiership club. Predictably tagged as the ‘New Neymar’, the story quickly evaporated as those involved began talk of a new contract with current side Santos.
“Nothing has come in. I saw the news and I have a contract with Santos until next year,” Neilton said at the time.
Santos vice-president Odilio Rodrigues added that the club were in talks to extend a deal which was due to run out in 2014.
“There are already talks to renew his contract,” added Rodrigues.
“They have started and we have scheduled a meeting already.”
However, the player’s agent Roberto de Almeida suggests that those contract negotiations may have stalled and that the club and player are no nearer reaching an agreement.
In July, Neilton had notched three goals ion six full games for Santos and although that record doesn’t look quite so impressive now at four in 15, the 19 year old could still be a good option as a back up striker, assuming there is anything in the rumours.
Neilton is good investment but eduardo salvio or christian tello good option

Yes mate. Sounds really plausible. Having spent 100 million in Summer we are going to sign Gungdan, Coentrao, Martinez and Corchia. Dont mean to be negative but I think quiet January on the cards. Need to settle Lamela etc. before thinking about new players
