It’s clearly a slow news week when you’re commenting on the club’s official goal of the month competition but the award given to Gylfi Sigurdsson highlights the contribution to the side that the Icelander is capable of making.
Gylfi was given the gong for his outstanding effort in the Capital One Cup against Hull and his return of four goals this campaign puts him behind only the main strikers Jermain Defoe and Roberto Soldado in all competitions.
Sigurdsson hasn’t quite reached the relatively prolific heights that he achieved whilst on loan at Swansea where his tally of seven in 19 included the Swans’ only effort in a 3-1 defeat at White Hart Lane. Some say that his only contribution is scoring goals and that he is often absent from games but that is one attribute that the club needs right now.
Does Gylfi Sigurdsson deserve a place in the starting line up for Sunday’s fixture at the Etihad?
YES OF COURSE!
If we carry on like that there will be no goals to choose from for the next month competition
“In-between is the target”dangerous play. my regards!!!
