Tottenham’s Brazilian midfielder Paulinho drew plenty of praise from his manager in the wake of Sunday’s 3-0 win over Stoke but there was bad news for all concerned with reports that the player could be out of action for up to a month. Paulinho limped out of the game after yet another poor challenge from Charlie Adam and it’s a blow because we look a much better unit when he’s in the side.
Following the match, the club made the following announcement,
‘Following a MRI scan, the Club can confirm that Paulinho has sustained significant ligament damage to his right ankle after a heavy challenge from Charlie Adam during Sunday’s win against Stoke City.
The Brazil international was forced off as a result of the injury and is expected to be sidelined for at least four weeks.’
Tim Sherwood’s words after the Stoke performance hinted at an extended run for Paulinho but how much will he be missed heading into the New Year? Perhaps one positive is it might bring to end annoying rumours of a January sale.
Depressing news, just as he had started to live up to the hype. At least central midfield is the area we have the most strength in depth.
hopefully sandro is back soon lets just hope holtby or siggy are nowhere near the side
Come back to bed son and finish me off.
