Spurs recorded back to back wins at Old Trafford for the first time in 40 years and despite United’s protests over penalties that might have been, the three points were thoroughly deserved. Moyes’ moans were just a sideshow after a match that might have ended up 2-2 but could equally have been 3-1 at the end of the ninety minutes.
Emmanuel Adebayor and Christian Eriksen scored either side of half time but Head Coach Tim Sherwood singled out plenty of players for individual praise after the game.
“I thought Etienne did well and Nabil came on and did excellently as well,” Sherwood said.
“Harry Kane did well after Soldado went off, Ade also had to go off. The players showed real character and it was great to take the three points.”
“We’re delighted with the win,” Tim added. “It’s always tough coming to Old Trafford but I felt if we got our players on the ball in the right areas we’d create chances.
“We created the best chances in the first half and it’s a shame we only managed to take one, but we stuck to it and scored the second.”
Next up for Spurs is Arsenal in the cup on Saturday and when we return to league action, it will be against a much improved Crystal Palace side at White Hart Lane on January 11th.
Hopefully people will now realise that Timmy isn’t tactically naive. Great to see him using Bentaleb and Kane. Thought the whole team played well. Rose was having a bit of a mare to start with but played much better as the game went on
