The goalkeeping situation at Spurs is hardly an issue with Hugo Lloris firmly installed as our number one and enjoying a good spell of form between the sticks. Meanwhile, Brad Friedel has proved an able deputy in cup competitions but with the American heading for his 43rd birthday, the press claim that Tottenham are making preparations for his retirement.

Under 21 stopper Jordan Archer has enjoyed some bench time but it’s been suggested that the new coach will overlook the 20 year old in favour of Nottingham Forest’s Karl Darlow.

At 22, Darlow has far more experience than Archer, having been Forest’s first choice for the last two seasons. The east Midlands club have Premiership aspirations of their own as they currently sit in the play offs but Darlow would surely be tempted to jump ship to White Hart Lane if these rumours were true.

He’s already kept ten clean sheets this season but is Karl Darlow the man to take over from Brad Friedel if our second choice keeper finally decides to hang up his gloves?
