Barcelona’s Bojan Krkic is widely linked with a switch to the Premier League today although the reports concede that anyone making a move for the 23 year old will be taking a massive gamble. Krkic became Barcelona’s youngest ever player when he made his debut at 17 years and 19 days against Osasuna in 2007 and as a product of the academy, a bright future was promised.

Sadly, that potential has never been fully realised: Krkic made his full international debut for Spain against Armenia in 2008 but that was his solitary cap. He asked to be left out of the Euro 2008 tournament, citing fatigue and personal problems and hasn’t been included since.

As for his club career, Barca offloaded their player to Roma in 2011 but two years later he was back at the Nou Camp. However, Krkic hasn’t appeared for his parent club this season and is currently on loan at Ajax.

Having underwhelmed at the Amsterdam Arena, the player’s future is at a crossroads once again. Capable of playing as a forward or winger, Bojan Krkic has been likened to Liverpool’s Philippe Coutinho but for whoever comes in to take charge of Tottenham’s buying policy, this is surely a gamble too far?

  1. Actually for once and once only I have to agree with akshay! Valdes to man city looks very realistic! Hart won’t play second fiddle and when Lloris cites “me no stay, me want CL football” which is also highly likely I can see us as a viable option for Hart. Who in the top 4 would want him? Liverpool just got Mignolet, Chelsea have Cech, Man Utd have de gea and it goes on. That Woolwich side might be interested but his name isn’t foreign so Hart is shit outta luck there!
This is the one and only time I think akshay has a point!!!!
