We were all hoping to see Christian Eriksen included in Tottenham’s line up for Sunday’s tie with Cardiff and it would have been disappointing enough to have seen the Dane left on the bench. As it was, a back injury kept the midfielder out of the game altogether and it has led to controversy ahead of his country’s international against England this week.

Yesterday it was reported by Sky Sports News that Christian would sit the match out along with club team mate Kyle Walker but national coach Morten Olsen thinks otherwise.

“We take no chances. He should be 100% ready. We think there is enough time,” Olsen said.

The move is bound to cause problems, particularly considering that the player has previously returned from international duty with an injury during this campaign. Tim Sherwood argued on Sunday that Eriksen would not be part of the squad and it will be fascinating to see how this one develops.
