Tottenham’s strikers have underlined our roller coaster of a season and as the campaign comes to an end, few of us are convinced about the remaining trio of Adebayor, Kane and Soldado. Harry Kane is young enough to be retained and after scoring three goals in his first three Premiership starts, the England Under 21 international has a role to play as third centre forward for next season.

As for the remaining pair, their places must be under threat and the media has put forward a number of familiar names as potential replacements.

Chelsea’s Romelu Lukaku enjoyed a prolific start to his loan spell at Everton and while his performances have tailed off a little towards the end of the campaign, the Belgian is clearly too good to remain on the fringes of the squad at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea’s title challenge stuttered because of a lack of firepower but the player’s agent suggests that a return to his parent club is by no means guaranteed.

“It’s all going to depend on Chelsea. We’ll see together what the best options are,’ said Christope Henrotay.

“Chelsea need lots of great strikers. And if there are too many, they’ll choose to allow Romelu to leave.”

Lukaku goes into the last game of the campaign with 14 goals from 30 league matches but that record was far more impressive at the end of 2013. Meanwhile Mirko Vucinic and Jackson Martinez have also been linked with moves to White Hart Lane.

Juve’s Vucinic is more of a second striker but even so, his record of two in 16 league games in 2013/14 is nothing to get excited about while Porto’s Martinez has a rather more impressive 27 in 46 for this season.

With our own league campaign coming to an end, should Spurs break the bank for any of these men?

  1. Keep Soldado and Kane. Hope that the form of Ade gets a bid, and then bring in another big striker. Lukaku if he is affordable. I think that any combination of those three would greatly improve the front line, and Lukaku could play up top by himself.

  2. Get rid of Ade as he’s too unpredictable and get someone with similar way of playing as other 2 to make the attacking front a danger.

  3. Ade and/or soldado can go bring in lukaku and I’m hope, maybe someone like like either Rodrigo or Rodriguez both good strikers just a little concern that Rodrigo has no pl experience but they need to start sometime right?
