In the hunt for the next Tottenham manager, the press have been focussing on Mauricio Pochettino but it seems that the link with current Ajax Coach Frank de Boer may not be dead after all. The Dutchman went public to announce that Spurs had been in contact with him – a move that prompted the club to issue an official statement denying that they had approached anybody – and after seemingly committing his future to Ajax, the media looked elsewhere.
However, today’s comments by former Dutch international Boudewijn Zenden have stirred up the reports all over again.
I’ve also heard that Frank de Boer has been in touch with the people at Tottenham,” Zenden told talkSPORT. “If that’s going to happen who knows?”
Whatever the truth may be, Zenden’s quotes have had little effect on the betting with Pochettino still odds on to take over at the Lane. Meanwhile, De Boer is still hovering at around the 2/1 mark.
