Sky Sports news are reporting that Mauricio Pochettino has tendered his resignation as Southampton manager. The press claimed over the Bank Holiday weekend that Tottenham had identified the Argentinian as their number one target to replace Tim Sherwood and a quick check on the Saints official website confirms that news.
‘Southampton Football Club has today accepted the resignation of First Team Manager Mauricio Pochettino, and concluded negotiations with Tottenham Hotspur over his appointment as their new manager,’ a statement reads.
There’s no official word from Spurs as yet but unless Pochettino is being lined up to take over at West Brom, we could get an announcement from the club before the end of the day.
Bookmakers accepting bets on how long Pocchetino will last.18months is my guess.
