Yesterday we picked up on reports claiming that centre half and club captain Michael Dawson could be one of the first Tottenham casualties under Mauricio Pochettino. The 30 year old has been at the club since 2005 but with form and fitness a concern last season, it was claimed that Hull and Crystal Palace were among the teams chasing his signature.

However, the player told Talksport that he was very happy at the Lane.

“It’s a great football club and I’ve loved every minute of it while I’ve been here,” Dawson said.

“The fans have been superb to me since day one because I’ve had some ups and downs like everyone does.”

Michael went on to add that the club is targeting a top four finish under the new coach.

“The expectations are high and the players want to achieve them. We want to be in the top four and hopefully next year we’ll have another push,” he added.

Positive words but should Dawson be part of the campaign that aims for Champions League football season?

  1. We will certainly not achieve our objectives with Dawson at the back! Undoubtedly a very nice man but certainly not Premiership material.
