It’s a little surprising that Tottenham’s new head coach Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t been linked with more players from his homeland but there is a report today concerning a young Argentinian striker,  Sebastian Driussi.

According to the Mirror, the 18 year old has ‘shone’ for River Plate although it appears that he has so far played just two games for the Argentine giants. He hasn’t scored in that time but has definitely made his mark for the national side at under 17 level and looks a great prospect.

To underline that, take a look at this video showing a brilliant overhead kick while in national colours. With goals of that standard, it’s a little surprising that we haven’t already heard of the player.

Pochettino may well be able to bring through the best of South American talent and the club have also been linked with a bid for Ecuador’s international centre half Frickson Erazo. At 26, Erazo is a far more experienced player and was previously thought to be a target for Pocehttino while at Southampton.

Detractors point to the purchase of Erik Lamela as a reason not to head to South America but Pochettino’s knowledge of the continent’s best players could be invaluable in the campaign that lies ahead.
