We’ve commented on the story linking Swansea left back Ben Davies with a move to Spurs but that may not be the only deal involving the two clubs this summer. The media reports that Mauricio Pochettino wants Wilfried Bony to join the revolution at White Hart Lane but there could be issues over a transfer fee with Swansea said to be holding out on £20m.

The 25 year old had previously been linked with a move to Tottenham, along with a host of Premiership clubs after notching no less than 46 goals in 65 league games with Vitesse in Holland. Swansea took the chance, weighing out £12m for the Ivorian who went on to score 25 times in 48 matches at the Liberty Stadium last season.

It’s said that Spurs are ready to negotiate in an attempt to bring that fee down and that one option could be to include Gylfi Sigurdsson. The Icelander had a spell on loan at the Liberty Stadium but it’s thought that the Swans only want the midfielder on a temporary basis once again.

More will doubtless follow on this but do you think that Wilfried Bony will be a good fit for Spurs?

  1. no he wont fit spurs style of play at all as he needs a good continuous supply of ball from midfield and spurs possession figures are not good enough.perhaps mr levy will try and get britton, hernandez,de guzman, dyer routledge and shelvey too?

    • Huh?! Are you sure you’ve been watching the right team? We had the second highest average possession the season before last and were second before Sherwood took over this season! We have plenty of good footballers in midfield – possession has never been our problem; sticking it in their net and keeping it out of ours has! Bony – in my opinion – would solve the former. Good hold up play – way better than Lukaku’s – and he can finish.

  2. Wilfred Bony and Ben Davis should be good buys. But watch out Liverpool don’t gazump us for Bony if they plan to sell Suarez.

  3. As a Spurs fan, I’m used to this speculative bullshit. Every season it’s the same and more so as we’ve a new manager and World Cup year. So far, Spurs have been linked to eleven midfielders, four centre halves, five strikers , two left backs and two keepers in the past two weeks alone and the same will happen next Summer and until I see any new players in photo shoot sporting a Spurs shirt outside our training ground, will treat this latest piece of news as bullshit.

  4. agree with all every year the same linked with every known striker and end up with sodudo pay bony his 20mil he is worth it am sure liverpool will pay even more times up pooch go get the man hands in pocket daniel
