As far as defender sales are concerned, all the attention at White Hart Lane has been on Jan Vertonghen and Michael Dawson. The first player is one we are desperate to keep while the second can be let go if the right financial arrangement can be found.

But with Eric Dier signed and Mateo Musacchio possibly to follow, surely the most vulnerable member of the squad must be Younes Kaboul. The French international made a tentative return to the side after an injury hit couple of years but with just a year left on his contract, it’s a surprise that rumours of an exit haven’t surfaced until now.

Today, the Standard reports that Kaboul could be offloaded to Lazio providing the Musaccheo deal goes through although that may now be in doubt due to a reported argument over a sell on clause. Whether the Argentinian arrives or not, surely it’s time to cash in on Kaboul?

  1. ……..and Walker. Kaboul has been 1 of our best players for the past 4 years….why sell him at all? Hes shown how good he is when hes fit…..Walker has been caught out of position too many times and Daws just dont have the pace to be a great centre back…..we need to strengthen those places first before we lose YK.
