Having made wholesale changes for Wednesday’s Capital One Cup Tie, head coach Mauricio Pochettino must have plenty of issues as his midweek side looked marginally better than the unit that surrendered at home to West Brom last weekend.

Firstly, Mauricio reported no fresh injury concerns before saying, a little obviously,

“We need to analyse the players today after last night’s game and afterwards we will decide the squad for Saturday.”

In defence, Jan Vertonghen and Kyle Naughton will be the ones pressing for recalls and if we were to bet on one change, the Belgian for Chiriches could be the most obvious. Andros Townsend might have been ineffective for long periods against Forest but at least he looked interested while we’ll all be checking Ryan Mason’s age against the Premier League rules but despite that Man of the Match performance, the midfielder would have been an unlikely starter in the North London derby.

Here are our thoughts and remember – we don’t necessarily agree with this – but this is how we see Spurs starting on Saturday evening.

  1. Looks good except for sticking that useless wage thief up top. Give Solly, Kane or even Fazio a go, they can’t do any worse, and they’re not going to give away silly fouls and potentially get themselves sent off.
