Tonight’s game against Asteras in the Europa League will feature a number of changes from Sunday’s win at Aston Villa with reports that several players have remained at home. If you haven’t seen the Spurs live in action this year, watching them in the Europa League is the best way to combine a little travel with a great footballing experience.

Back to the football though, and Younes Kaboul, Kyle Naughton, Aaron Lennon and Emmanuel Adebayor haven’t made the trip to Greece while Hugo Lloris is suspended and Kyle Walker and Nabil Bentaleb injured.

Michel Vorm is expected to start in goal after commenting from his Twitter account,

‘I am ready for my European debut for the club tomorrow.’

The back four is likely to pick itself while the midfield is trickier but the real question for Spurs fans is at the top of the pitch and the interest surrounding that question has more to do with Sunday’s line up against Stoke. Do we read anything into the fact that Ade has been left behind? Will it be Soldado in isolation or Soldado and Kane in a game where we still need a positive result?

Here’s what we think but what’s your view?

  1. I would leave Kane on the bench for Stoke on Sunday and impact sub again if not going well. Midfield of Townsend, Stambouli, Dembele, Eriksen, Lamela: Soldado. Back 5 as suggested. Get the midfield joining up with Soldado. If HK is not to play V Stoke then he could/should play here. as team suggested above. Selection will tell us what the intention is. Doubt HK will start both games.

  2. Would like to see Dier given a start at CB, that is his position. Alongside fazio. Naughton and davies at FB.

    Stambouli and Mason

Lamella R and Ericksen L then kane and Sol up front.

I really hope Ade has not been kept back to start on Sat, just not doing it.

  3. My team for tonight is Form, Rose,Dier,Fazio,Davies,Townsend, Ericksen,Mason,Lamela,Kane,Soldado.4-4-2, this is a must, staet with real intent and attack the flanks, another option is to play Dier at left back, play Davies as left winger, bring in Lamela, play Fazio in the middle so were playing 3-5-2.
