Spurs have doubts over a number of players ahead of tonight’s return match with Partizan in the Europa league. Nacer Chadli, Younes Kaboul, Emmanuel Adebayor, Andros Townsend, Etienne Capoue and Danny Rose all missed the win over Hull at the weekend but it’s unclear as to whether any of those men will be available.

“We need to analyse each case, maybe some players will be available for the weekend,” added Mauricio Pochettino on the club’s official website.

That leaves issues for the manager who would have preferred to rest a few players ahead of Sunday’s game with Everton but those problems will be eased to an extent by the return from injury of Nabil Bentaleb.

Aside from the doubts, Kyle Walker is definitely out while Federico Fazio is suspended. Meanwhile, the question of who to risk and who to rest is most apparent up top where Harry Kane and Roberto Soldado are likely to be our only fit senior strikers. With 4-4-2 looking more effective against Hull on Sunday, does Pochettino take a chance on both men starting the tie?

Here’s our thoughts – which pre-suppose that one or two from this list might be declared fit. What’s your view?

Chadli preferred if fit. Paulinho in for Bentaleb after 45-60 mins if Bentaleb not performing well or needs to be eased back into form. Fielding a strong team for the win makes sense so we don’t leave qualification in doubt in final game against Besiktas.

These are professional players and should be able to recover and show mental strength against Everton on Sunday despite the disappointing evidence to the contrary thus far in BPL games following EL games the past 2 years.

  3. Due to important game on Sunday, I’d like us to line-up as below (if all fit):

    Vorm
    Naughton Dier Chiriches Rose
    Stambouli Bentaleb/Paulinho
    Lennon Dembele Townsend
    Soldado
