PochettinoWith our opponents having been unbeaten in seven matches and having taken six wins in that period, the majority of Spurs fans would have settled for a point from yesterday’s early kick off with Manchester United. Once again, Hugo Lloris was resolute in goal and after the game, head coach Mauricio Pochettino hailed a ‘fair result’.

“The second half was very good and we played better than United but at the end, after 90 minutes, I think the result was fair,” said Mauricio on the club’s official website.

“The most important thing is the feeling we got from the performance. The point is good but I think it’s better to get that feeling from today because the team had a very good performance.”

The manager is now looking for his side to take the momentum from this display and carry it on through an important few days where we face Chelsea at home before taking on Burnley in the third round of the FA Cup.

“The idea was to believe in our skill and get the three points but we showed that we were solid. We made a big effort and for that, congratulations to the players.

“We need to keep this feeling and this momentum because we have a lot of games ahead and the next game is tough,” Pochettino concluded.
