Tottenham start their first Premier League game of the season without one of their most influential players tomorrow, with Hugo Lloris still not over the knee injury that saw him substituted against Leicester.

In his absence deputy Michel Vorm will start. There are also injury doubts in defence, with both Eric Dier and Danny Rose having picked up knocks while on international duty. Dier only has a black eye which doesn’t sound that serious, so will probably start but Ben Davies should get the nod rather than risking Rose.

  2. I think we should change Dier for Fazio and bring Lamela in for Townsend, Yes I know he scored for England, but Lamela is a much more productive player and brings team mates into the game and doesn’t play just for himself!

  4. Anybody picking lamela has got to be fucking nuts. He’s useless, absolutely hopeless. Total and utter waste of money. Dembele isn’t much better either. Spineless wimps the pair of them. Get them out of my club and don’t mention their names again.

    • It’s a good job you don’t pick the team then, as you obviously wouldn’t not a decent player if he stood on your foot.

      • So you are saying that lamela and Dembele are really good players and that they will get us into the champions league and challenging for honours? Thank god you don’t buy the players let alone pick them. We’d have an even worse squad than we do already. I suppose you think Soldado and Adebayor have been wonderful investments as well.     • A “useless” “not good enough” “a waste of time” ” get rid of” type of supporter. Will have said the same of Rose, Kane, Bentaleb etc. at some time in the past . A ******** usless supporter!

      • For a useless supporter I’ve had a season ticket 22 years and have been going to WHL for nearly 35 years. I bet you can’t say that. I suggest you get a dictionary and check your definitions and as for calling me names you don’t even know me so your childish insults say more about you. If you believe lamela and Dembele have been a successes then I pity you. I wish I was so easily please. Is the acceptance of failure a family trait? You’re as gutless as half our squad and blinded by what you’d call loyalty but it’s actually what anybody with with half a brain can see… ignorance. blissful no doubt!

    • Lamela wudnt make my team but at least he’s got “some” potential to be a good player? But dembele is what he is,every now and then he has a good game.
      Both played well at Anfield!

    Going 3 at the back helps us get width and pace but also gives Walker a little less defensive duties!
    Townsend has to play on the left so he can use his pace to get good balls into Kane!
    I’d like to see Paulinho partner Mason to see if he is worth holding onto and Bentaleb hasn’t been that great recently!
    That leaves a front 3 of the only player’s in our squad to have found the back of the net on regular occasions!
    Only problem is Poch seems adamant on playing one formation even if we don’t have the players to do it justice! COYS

  6. Our players are screaming out for 3 at the back!!!
    Dier can play RB,Vertonghen plays LB with makes them the perfect type of CB to play that formation!
    Walker is dodgy at defending but uses his pace to get himself out of trouble which playing him as a RM/RWB wud give him less defensive duties!
    Townsends pace and ability to beat a man wud be so much more effective out wide on the left where he can cross the ball in instead of shooting all the time!
    We cud get more control of midfield with having Eriksen and Chadli being able to drop back into the mid when needed to help out Mason and Paulinho!
    But one of the biggest bonuses is getting Eriksen and Chadli playing off Kane but not having to worry about giving width cus the wing backs will cover that leaving the 3 most prolific goal scorers where they want to be,in front of goal!
    And considering that our defense is sloppy at the moment, it won’t hurt to have Extra bodies tracking back from the flanks!
    To me it makes our team look so much more dangerous going forward and give us added defensive edge!

  8. Burnley are desperate,and our defensive woes of late,highlighted with errors ,on a frequent basis.Give us real concerns for this game.Sincerely hope the lads prove me totally wrong.
    Until we cut our error rate down.These sought of games are always going to be giving us a nervous,disposition.

    Use walker and rose as wing backs both get forward well in this system don’t need to worry as much about getting back as we have and extra cb in there Mason and Bentaleb can sit give Paulinho who I was impressed with in last game as a sub freedom to get forward with walker and rose providing the width
