After an equal opening half hour or so at St Mary’s, some calamitous Tottenham defending led to the first goal of the game.
Ryan Mason slipped on the edge of the Spurs penalty area, forcing himself into a poor back pass. Ben Davies failed to stand firm and Pelle tapped in for Southampton.

Mason's slip there reminded me a little of Dawson's slip at Wembley. So unfortunate. But, regardless of that, Davies should have stood firm.
