Moussa Dembele replaces the suspended Eric Dier in centre midfield as Tottenham welcome Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to White Hart Lane.
Spurs make one other change to the team that drew 2-2 at Swansea a fortnight ago, with Danny Rose coming in for Ben Davies at left back.
There is more good news for Spurs in that Daniel Sturridge misses out through injury, failing to even make the Liverpool bench.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the team news.
Our strongest defence?? & the team we wld all have picked! #COYS

Does this essentially prove my theory that Rose only wasn't playing due to his niggling injuries? I think so. Better side with him in it.

Sturridge's absence is big but this Liverpool side will be up for it, although it's nowhere near a best XI. Have to take advantage.

Breaking news; Spurs play centre backs in correct positions & replace a suspended central midfielder with a central midfielder. Shock #coys

5 – Liverpool have won their last five Premier League games against Tottenham Hotspur, scoring 18 goals in the process. Expectation.

#thfc Big opportunity for Dembele. Not sure where he'd fit into the strongest XI if everyone's fit so he needs to take chances like this.

Do BT Sport know that there are two teams playing today? Bored of the Klopp hype. Really hope we can silence the PR machine.

Dembele has to be do what he does best today. Get the ball. Keep the ball. Pass it sideways #loveyou

Dembele and Alli it is… Big shifts needed from both if Spurs are to beat LFC. Not a great deal of tackling in THFC midfield.

Davies has done well but Rose in cup games has been putting man of the match displays. Far better player IMO. #thfc
