Cameron Carter-Vickers signed a new contract today keeping him at Spurs until 2018.
The 17-year old centre-back is a regular for Tottenham’s U21 side and the USA U-20 squad. Considered one of the brightest prospects produced for many a year by both club and country, great things are expected of the youngster.
Born and raised in Southend, Carter-Vickers qualifies for the USA through his father Howard Carter. A former NBA player, Carter’s basketball career took him to Europe where he met Carter-Vickers’ English mother.
The central defender turns 18 on New Year’s Eve and considering his advanced development it may not be long until we see him loaned out to a lower league club in England or even abroad. Watch these highlights of Carter-Vickers’ performance in the FA Youth Cup semi-final last season against Chelsea.
