After a dominant opening hour at White Hart Lane, Spurs finally broke the deadlock through an unlikely source.
Kieran Trippier netted his first goal for the club, getting on the end of a superb Dele Alli cross to tap home from close range.
It was no less than Trippier deserved. The right back was arguably Tottenham’s best performer up to that point and will be happy to have marked his display with a goal.
