Reports from Italy claim that Spurs are interested in the Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic.

The Old Lady are said to be willing to listen to offers in the region of £20m for the Croatian striker.

On the face of it the 29-year old seems an unlikely transfer target for a club seemingly committed to only spending big on young talent.

Yet with Champions League qualification looking likely, perhaps the criteria will change as Tottenham look to compete at the very highest level.

Mandzukic certainly has top pedigree, scoring nine goals this season for Juve, following 20 in 43 appearances for Atletico Madrid last term and 48 in 88 matches over two seasons with Bayern Munich.

Such experience would be invaluable for Spurs and would add to the number of more experienced players in the squad, alongside the likes of Hugo Lloris, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele. Watch Mandzukic in action below.
