Reports from Portugal claim that Spurs made a January bid for the Sporting Lisbon striker Islam Slimani and plan to rekindle their interest in the summer.
Portuguese newspaper Record have reported that Sporting rejected Tottenham’s approach for the 27-year old, but expect the club to return with a bid at the end of the season.
Slimani has a £23m release clause, which is sure to be activated by one of the many interested clubs across Europe, after a season in which the Algerian international has scored 24 goals in 37 appearances. Watch him in action below.
