Harry Kane’s excellent equaliser made sure Tottenham left Anfield with a well earned point against a sporadically impressive Liverpool.
After an even first half, Philippe Coutinho opened the scoring for the hosts with a well worked goal. Both sides had good spells after the opener, but it was Spurs who struck next through Kane. The striker controlled a Christian Eriksen pass before drilling the ball into the far corner.
We’ll won’t know if it’s a point gained or two dropped until leaders Leicester play tomorrow. For now, here’s the immediate reaction to the result and performance on Twitter.
Not an ideal result but probably fair…Leicester four points ahead and play Southampton tomorrow. Devastated.

We were fucking quality after we went one down. #THFC

Didn't lose. We're still in this! #COYS

Would have taken a point beforehand. Really entertaining game, though.

A draw not the worst result. Not an easy place to go but we're back to hoping Leicester don't win to extend the gap (if they do, it's over).

Hard-earned point, in our hardest fixture remaining. It may not be enough, can't really ask for more as a performance. Liverpool were good

Great game that typifies the Prem – all blood and thunder. Not quite the result needed. #COYS

It's not over, on we fucking go! #COYS

Liverpool at Anfield is always tough. We played well and so did they – fair result in a great game imo. Bitterly disappointed tho, of course
— Tom Edwards (@tomedwards) April 2, 2016
Can't say whether it's a good, bad or ok point until after Leicester's game tomorrow. Let's wait and see ?
— WHLParkLane (@Craig_Spur) April 2, 2016
Point probably fair IMO. Imagine that was loads of fun as a neutral. Lloris, Rose, Dembélé & Kane phenomenal today, I thought.
— Charlie Parrish (@charlieparrish) April 2, 2016
Even if Leicester win tomorrow, I'll still continue believing until it's mathematically impossible for us to win the league. Call me crazy.

Harry Kane's goal something out of absolutely nothing & massive credit should go to Eriksen for miraculously keeping that ball in.#THFC

That game was for anyone who still wasn't sure if Lamela is an integral part of Tottenham's success or not
— Ian M. Walker (@WalkerIanM) April 2, 2016
We just could'nt finish our chances, but a great performance from the lads.
Southampton lets do this for Poch! #COYS— Harsh Mishra (@HarshM_16) April 2, 2016
Harry is special – what a goal and performance. Just gutted we couldn't get the win. Oh well, we march on #COYS
