Transfer speculation surrounding our players is not generally something to be welcomed, but we’re pretty sure Spurs fans will raise a smile at this one.

Napoli legend Diego Maradona was asked about the club’s 30-goal striker Gonzalo Higuain and whether he could replicate that form next season. The World Cup winner thinks that his former side should cash in on his fellow Argentine and recommended raiding Tottenham for one of our brightest stars.

“I know (Napoli president Auerelio) De Laurentiis, and I think he will sell Higuain.

“Higuain gave his best to Napoli, I don’t think he can repeat this kind of form. We already saw it happen with Lavezzi.

“With the money he will earn, he will have to build a great team.

“It’s not easy to replace Higuain, if it was up to me, I would choose Tottenham’s Kane. I don’t know how much he costs, but I would sign him.”

While we’re very much opposed to Napoli or anyone else trying to buy Harry Kane, the fact that our striker is obviously highly-rated by arguably the greatest player of all time, is a great tribute. If Harry can achieve half as much as Diego did during his playing days, then he’ll have had a great career.
