Reports from Germany claim that Spurs are ready to make a move for the Werder Bremen centre-back Jannik Vestergaard.

Bild report that the Danish international could be available this summer for £11.7 million. Bremen are said to be suffering from financial problems and ready to cash in on the 23-year old.

Standing at a giant 6ft 6″ tall, Vestergaard certainly has the physical attributes to make it in the Premier League and is surprisingly skilful for a player of his size.

Tottenham could well be in the market for another central defender this summer to cover for Toby Alderweireld, who was rarely given a break last season. With Jan Vertonghen and Kevin Wimmer happier on the left side of defence, a right-sided player could be needed, with Eric Dier having moved to midfield and Cameron Carter-Vickers still very young.

Though Vestergaard is most often used on the left side of Werder Bremen’s defence, he is in fact right-footed. Watch him in action and let us know if you think he’s the man to complete a quality quartet of central defenders at White Hart Lane.
