Everyone can breathe a sigh of relief. There is still absolutely no need for anyone to ever go to Milton Keynes.
Yes, Spurs are on their way to Wembley. Next season the club will play Champions League ties at the national stadium, with the option to play all league and cup games there in 2017-18.
The news prompted a mixed reaction from Tottenham fans. There was sadness at the confirmation that there will be no more European nights at White Hart Lane, yet excitement at the prospect of playing our home games at the home of English football. Here’s how they reacted on Twitter.
We’ve reached agreement with @WembleyStadium to play our @ChampionsLeague fixtures there for the 2016/17 season. pic.twitter.com/BPCGmW1mrQ

#thfc The good news is it's not Milton Keynes. The bad news is it's not White Hart Lane. Wembley the best option in the circumstances.

Wembley not ideal, but nothing would be. This is best option all round for THFC. @THSTOfficial have done fine work.

@SpursOfficial Wembley the bast of a bad bunch, but for £26 million I hope Mr Levy has persuaded them to change those red seats to blue#coys

Genius from Spurs! Rarely make it to Wembley the conventional way so we just rent the place for two seasons que sera sera! #COYS

If we have an extended cup run in the next few seasons, playing regularly at Wembley week in week out may prove to be very beneficial. #COYS

Gutted to be playing champions leagues games at Wembley next season. The Lane bounced when we beat Inter #thfc

Wembley sounds glam, but: Our system's going to knacker players, every other week! & teams already lift their game against us at WHL!? #coys

The big #Wembley pitch will suit the way we play as well, might find more ways to break down teams who sit in deep against us at home #THFC

Least West Ham will get to play their 'cup final' at Wembley in the 2017/18 season.. #THFC

Hope @spursofficial look at cheap tickets for kids at Wembley. Great chance for youngsters to get to games. #THFC #COYS

Whilst it's a tinge of disappointment not playing CL under the famous WHL nights Spurs being at Wembley will always be special! #COYS#THFC

Finally dawned on me. Playing at Wembley gives Levy and Co. a massive head start on increased season ticket sales. Duh… #COYS

Is it too naive/optimistic to think that having 5 England regulars should make playing at Wembley less daunting/alien? #COYS

Main thing now is making sure we do all we can to make #Wembley feel like home, an advantage and not a neutral venue we know it to be# THFC
