The televised fixture schedule has been released by Sky Sports and BT Sport and it will make pleasing reading for fans of traditional 3pm Saturday kick-offs.
With Spurs in the Champions League this season rather than the Europa League, the days of us having to play games on Sunday for no good reason are gone. Unless a fixture is picked to be televised it will take place at 3pm on Saturday.
Only two of our games have been selected to be shown on TV, with Sky televising our home games against Liverpool and Sunderland – BT have passed on the opportunity to show any of our matches during August and September.
The Liverpool match will now take place at 12.30pm on Saturday 27th August, while the game against Sunderland kicks-off at 4.30pm on Sunday 18th September.
That means that Tottenham’s matches against Everton (a), Crystal Palace (h), Stoke (a) and Middlesbrough (a) will all start at 3pm on a Saturday. This is surely good news for travelling supporters, with the mid-afternoon start allowing them plenty of time to travel both to and from the away grounds.
