Reports from France suggest that Clinton Njie has passed his medical with Marseille.
La Provence have claimed that Njie’s medical has been completed, paving the way for him to join Marseille on loan.
If Njie plays a certain amount of games it will trigger a permanent deal which would see Marseille pay Spurs €7m for the Cameroon international.
With Njie’s departure seemingly imminent, we can expect Georges-Kevin Nkoudou’s move in the opposite direction to be officially announced shortly. Nkoudou passed a medical at Tottenham las week ahead of £10.8m transfer.
The French U21 international scored ten goals in his debut season for Marseille after a £1m move from Nantes. The cash-strapped French giants have made a quick profit on Nkoudou, while picking up a player to replace him who is a proven talent in Ligue 1, in what seems to be a rare instance where a transfer deal works out for the best for all involved.
I reckon Njie didn’t have too many opportunities to prove himself. I’d have kept him for another season.

Would’ve been interesting to see both Njie and Nkoudou in an attacking three alongside Kane or Janssen. Pace on both wings would’ve been frightening for the opposition. Pity, but that’s how it goes i suppose.
Now days you have to take your chance immediately and what I saw of him he didn’t show anything in the minutes he got. Spurs are building a reputation for allowing youth to prosper but on the condition they give 100% ALL the time. The issue I have is these young players get huge salaries and think they’ve made it BEFORE they have!! It isn’t just on the pitch they need to perform but in training. From what I read shipping Clinton out opens the door for us to get an upgrade without closing opportunities to the likes of Edwards, Ball etc…I have to say for the first time I trust in the management in not keeping players who aren’t good enough just because we think they’ll come good or to ensure we don’t sell for a loss.
Life goes on. I’ve watched N’koudou video clips and much as I on sentimental grounds feel sorry for N’jie, N’koudou seems to be a better player than N’jie. His final ball, pace and technical ability is far superior than N’jie’s and I believe Poch has seen something in him. Most of the goals scored by that overrated scum Batsuayi were courtesy of N’koudou. I just hope and believe that if we get him we are going to have another source of goals the wings. Eriksen, Lamela, N’koudou, Jenssen, Alli, Kane are all goal threats. So I think we will be excellent going forward.
Fuck N’jie he was dog shit and unlike many other players never looked like he could cut it.

The 90+ minutes of a match make up a small percentage of the required work a player needs to put in to warrant a place at a club. As such I’ve always said that Raheem sterling must look phenomenal in training. Granted Njie wasn’t too lucky in regards to injury but even before then he seemed a little like a rabbit caught in headlights to me. Again I know he’s young and in a new league but he just doesn’t look like he’s cut out for this league. Maybe I’m doing the kid a massive disservice, maybe given time in the team he’d come good….like Lamela, but Eric’s price tag afforded him an extended grace period and sadly for Njie he didn’t cost anywhere near the same. I completely trust the manager and his staff, as, apart from Fazio they haven’t put a foot wrong as far as I can see. If Clinton is being farmed out for purely footballing reasons I go along with it 100%. After the season we’ve just had (minus the last few games) the manager has earned the right to make a few bold moves.
