Reports claim that Lazio are set to sign the unwanted Spurs midfielder Nabil Bentaleb.
Bentaleb was named in a trio of players – with Federico Fazio and Alex Pritchard – who were not in the plans of Mauricio Pochettino for the coming season. Fazio and Pritchard have already departed the club and Bentaleb could follow them before the transfer window closes.
It’s thought that Lazio want to sign the Algerian midfielder on loan. If that’s the case they’ll no doubt have to wait until near the end of the window, as Spurs hope to secure a permanent deal.
Tottenham can hope to claim somewhere in the region of £10m to £15m for Bentaleb and will surely hold out for a full transfer before letting him leave on loan.
That said, with the player still having four years remaining on his contract, a loan needn’t result in Bentaleb’s value decreasing. This is likely to be a move that Spurs are open to, but Lazio run the risk of being beaten by a club willing to stump up a fee to make the deal permanent.
We are making a big mistake on letting Bentaleb go. Something must of happen between him and the Poch. He is better than Mason Carrol and son. Wimmer is more reliable than Vertongon.
