Eric Dier has become the latest player to commit his future to the club, signing a new five-year deal.
The contract will keep Dier at Spurs until 2021 and is a just reward for a player who has become extremely important to the team over the past year.
Converted to a defensive midfielder at the start of last season, Dier has become a first-choice selection in the position for both club and country. His signing for just £4m has proved to be a huge bargain.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to Dier’s new contract.

#thfc After Eriksen's deal, Poch said he expected more players to sign. Today Dier, tomorrow Walker? Hugely encouraging for the club.

Poch decidedly happier about this contract than he was last September's. Eric beautifully wardrobe consistent. pic.twitter.com/M6gvVYl86J

Getting all these key players under new long term contracts. Not that they mean much in modern football, still good to see. #COYS #Dier

It’s that old cliche, CL football is the key to retaining your stars and attracting new ones. It’s absolutely vital that we continue to qualify, I’d love to see Poch and this young group of players establish us as regular CL qualifiers and go on to win the trophy itself at some stage. The future’s bright…..
