Hugo Lloris today made it a very merry Christmas for every Spurs fan, by signing a new contract that will keep him at the club until 2022.
The French goalkeeper has been heavily linked with a move away from White Hart Lane in the past, but had now committed his long-term future to club.
In doing so Lloris follows the example of most of his teammates, to become the latest player to extend their contract. We’re sure that most Tottenham supporters will agree that of all the players to have signed in the last year, it’s Lloris’ decision that is the most important.
Here’s how the fans reacted to the news on Twitter.

Lloris re-signing shocked me. He can have more money, more titles and more CL if he wants, and he chose Spurs.
Poche is a miracle man.

The best thing Spurs have done in years is tie down their coach and players to long term deals. Sees us through to the stadium. #COYS

Hard to think of anyone in world football I'd trade any of Lloris, Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen and Rose for. Heady days. #COYS
