Ben Davies has signed a new four-year deal that will see him with stay with Tottenham until the summer of 2021.

The left-back has struggled for minutes this season because of Danny Rose’s excellent form. But Rose’s knee injury has allowed Davies to step in, and the Welshman impressed against Everton last weekend.

Rose isn’t expected back until early April. While that’s unfortunate for Spurs and the player himself, it could give Davies more of a chance to develop into a player worthy of a first team place.
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the news.
#thfc Ben Davies has signed a new contract until 2021. Big gap to Danny Rose bt he played well v Everton so good timing for the announcement

@SpursOfficial @Ben_Davies33 Congrats Ben! Fully deserved, happy to know you'll be here for a while 🙂

This is either 1) asset protection/putting his value up, 2) Davies becoming a LCB or 3) A lack of LWB's available. I'm hoping it's 1 or 2. https://t.co/XuLdvxmZBt

Imagine being a member of the Spurs squad and NOT offered a new contract. You'd thing there was something wrong with you.
