When Harry Kane injured his ankle against Millwall in the FA Cup last weekend, there was plenty of speculation about his potential replacement.
Heung-Min Son bagged a hat-trick in Kane’s absence, while Vincent Janssen came off the bench and scored his first Tottenham goal from open play.
Despite Janssen’s improvement, Mauricio Pochettino has put his trust in Heung-Min Son for Spurs’ Premier League clash Southampton at White Hart Lane. Janssen is on the bench.
The rest of the team is unchanged from Tottenham’s 3-2 league win against Everton a fortnight ago.
Kyle Walker, Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele have all recovered from minor injuries to start against Southampton. Here’s how Twitter reacted to all the team news.

The expected XI. Glad to see Walker & Wanyama have recovered in time. #COYS https://t.co/Q7BPfXbeng

Zero qualms with that lineup. Strongest one we could field. Good to see Walker is fit.

Was obvious Janssen wouldn't start. Also makes sense to have a striker ready to come off the bench if at some point you're chasing the game

Son has scored 14 goals and also contributed to 4 assists, logical to understand why he has been picked ahead of Janssen today. #COYS#THFC

Imagine how much of a knock to Janssen confidence this is, your main striker injured so you put a winger up top instead of yr 2nd striker…

A predictable team with Kane being off just hope Poch gives Janssen more than the last 10mins to see what he can do#COYS

Weakness in this Saints team in central defence. United exploited it in League Cup final, have confidence Spurs can follow suit today. https://t.co/4ofRZ6VpJP
