Dele Alli doubled Tottenham’s lead just after half an hour of their Premier League clash with Southampton at White Hart Lane.
Christian Eriksen broke the deadlock on 14 minutes to give Spurs the lead with a fine left-footed finish.
Just after the half-hour mark, Alli was tripped in the box and the hosts were awarded a spot-kick.
In the absence of usual penalty-taker Harry Kane, Alli stepped up and swept the ball low into the bottom corner, sending Fraser Forster the wrong way and doubling Tottenham’s advantage.
