Rumours linking Tottenham with a move for Everton’s Ross Barkley have resurfaced yet again. The midfielder’s name was first mentioned back in November last year.

Then, earlier this month, Barkley was said to be discussed in a meeting between Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy regarding summer transfer targets.

It seems the rumours won’t go away, with the London Evening Standard now reporting Barkley is willing to move to London despite previous claims he would prefer to stay in the north.

I’m sure plenty of northern clubs would take the 23-year-old if the price was right — Manchester United and Manchester City have both been linked with Barkley in the past.

But Spurs appear to be the frontrunners now, despite rumoured interest from Chelsea. If the league leaders’ interest is genuine, there’s a good chance they could lure Barkley with bigger wages than Tottenham would be able to offer.

Still, the latest development is certainly good news for Spurs if they are keen on securing Barkley’s services this summer.
