Kevin Wimmer is set to leave Tottenham this summer with Hull City’s Harry Maguire lined up as a potential replacement, according to The London Evening Standard.

The report claims Spurs scouts have been impressed with Maguire’s displays for relegation-threatened Hull this season. The 24-year-old has proved he can play in either a back three or back four.

Hull are believed to be keen on receiving between £12-15 million for their star defender, but Maguire could leave for a lot less because of his contract situation; there are just 12 months remaining on his current deal.

On top of that, Tottenham might find it relatively easy to lure Maguire because of his wages. He is thought to earn between £20-25,000 per week, which is much lower than most Spurs players.

Meanwhile, Kevin Wimmer has found it increasingly difficult to get any game time at White Hart Lane this season. The Standard suggests the Austrian will be allowed to leave the club this summer.

Maguire would be a decent squad signing for Tottenham, but surely he’ll struggle for minutes if Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld stay fit.
