Mousa Dembele could miss Sunday’s North London derby through injury, according to The London Evening Standard.

Tottenham face Arsenal at White Hart Lane straight after Premier League leaders Chelsea visit Everton in what could prove to be a pivotal weekend in the title race.

Dembele picked up an ankle injury in Spurs’ 1-0 win against Crystal at Selhurst Park on Wednesday evening and was subsequently substituted at half-time.

According to the Evening Standard’s story, Dembele is a doubt for Sunday. The Belgian has been instrumental for Tottenham this term, particularly in the second half of the season.

It must be noted, however, that Spurs improved when Dembele was replaced against Palace. Christian Eriksen dropped into the deeper midfield position, from where he scored the stunning winner.

But Mauricio Pochettino will hope Dembele is fit to return for the derby given the control he gives Tottenham in midfield.

We’re likely to hear more on the situation in Pochettino’s pre-match press conference tomorrow.
