Tottenham have prioritised signings in two key positions this summer, according to The Times.

In his story concerning Toby Alderweireld’s potential new contract, journalist Gary Jacob revealed Spurs have instructed their scouts to look at full-backs and a back-up striker for Harry Kane.

Kyle Walker reportedly sees his future away from Tottenham after a row with Mauricio Pochettino over his fitness and training level.

And while Kieran Trippier is set to be offered a new contract by the club, Pochettino will be eager to replace Walker with a top quality right-back.

On the other side, Ben Davies has deputised well during Danny Rose’s absence through injury. But the Welshman could become unhappy when Rose returns if it means less game time.

With that in mind, there’s a good chance Spurs will sign full-backs on both sides this summer.

As for strikers, Vincent Janssen has been linked with a move to West Brom while Tottenham are believed to be keen on Bournemouth goal machine Josh King.

It will be interesting to see if Janssen is given another season to prove himself at Spurs. If not, Pochettino will need to prioritise a striker happy to play second fiddle to Kane.

  1. We have 2 top fullbacks each side. We have no cover for Alderweireld or Vertonghen. Jannsen and Winks look to be a bit behind covering Dembele and Kane. We badly need cover for Eriksen.

I would take Winston Reid (hes experienced enough to provide cover and decent on his day), Bernardo Silva (was a real handful when we played Monaco) and Lacazette if we can get him.

Having Lamela back is going to be a big plus.
