Nice midfielder Jean Michaël Seri will cost Tottenham £33.5 million if they want to sign him this summer, according to reports coming out of the player’s native Ivory Coast.

Last week, The Guardian claimed Spurs and Arsenal are set to fight for Seri’s signature, but both clubs could be beaten to the midfielder by Barcelona or Paris Saint-Germain.

The Guardian’s story suggested Seri would be allowed to leave Nice for £20 million, despite having a release clause of £33 million.

But now, reports from the Ivory Coast (relayed by talkSPORT) indicate Nice have put a price tag of £33.5 million on the 25-year-old.

Everton and Southampton are also thought to interested in Seri, while there has been talk of a possible move to Borussia Dortmund, too.

The midfielder is certainly in demand, but in the end a combination of money and Champions League football could count for a lot.

Tottenham already have four capable central midfielders in Eric Dier, Victor Wanyama, Mousa Dembele and Harry Winks. But success in multiple competitions requires strength in depth, so Seri would be a logical signing.
