Last week we relayed reports suggesting Sporting Lisbon had rejected a £21.5 million bid from Tottenham for midfielder Adrien Silva.

There was also a story in Portugal claiming Spurs were “committed” to signing the 28-year-old midfielder who was instrumental to Portugal’s Euro 2016 win.

Now, another report in Portugal suggests Tottenham are willing to make a second bid for Silva.

The story was spotted by HITC in the print edition of Portuguese newspaper Jornal de Noticas. It claims Sporting value Silva at £26 million — not too much more than Spurs initial £21.5 bid.

If the video below is anything to go by, Silva might need to toughen up before he comes to the Premier League.

  1. The Sissoko signing would take some beating in the stupidity stakes, but Adrien Silva could possibly do it. Signing a 28 year old for 26m from the Portuguese league that only had a hand in 8 goals last season, who even if he was decent would take at least a season to get used to the prem. Barkley with prem experience and coming off a better season in a better league would cost the same and for another 9m we could have Thomas Lemar, who at 7 years younger is already 3 or 4 times the player. I call BS on this one.
