Arsenal broke their transfer record earlier this week to bring in French striker Alexandre Lacazette from Ligue 1 club Lyon.
Sensing an opportunity, Tottenham fans were quick to remind the Gunners about an encounter between former left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto and Lacazette in a Europa League game at White Hart Lane four years ago.
Spurs beat Lyon 2-1 in a round of 32 first leg clash at the Lane thanks to two stunning Gareth Bale free-kicks either side of a Samuel Umtiti wonder-strike.
In hindsight, the moment of the match might have belonged to Assou-Ekotto, who brilliantly nutmegged Lacazette to the delight of the home supporters. Video via Simply Spurs.
Remember when Assou-Ekotto ended Lacazette ??? https://t.co/Uz3TIMkmEs

Arsenal fans are so proud of their team even though they easily can buy anybody that they want in the world.
Gooners are doin well, whereas this little team are crying 4 trophy
Arsenal have paid over the odds for a decent French Striker, using the Sanchez sale funds! Although, i have a suspicion he will walk on a free next summer.
The transfer to transform the Woolwich is a new manager, thankfully the pensioner remains in situ.
Lets see how they react in the Prem with the Europa league to contend with. They will realise how difficult it is to play Thursday night football and get into top 4- whoever they sign. This is the reason they were above Spurs for so long, the tide has now however turned…. suck it up fellas, its gonna be a long and hard season
