Tottenham could offer midfielder Josh Onomah to Swansea City on loan as part of a deal to sign defender Alfie Mawson, according to The Telegraph.

Mauricio Pochettino is believed to be keen on signing an English centre-back this summer, with Mawson and Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson perhaps the strongest candidates.

Swansea apparently value Mawson at £30 million, meaning Spurs would have to equal their record transfer fee to sign him.

The Telegraph suggests Tottenham could offer Onomah to Swansea on a season-long loan in order to bring Mawson’s price down.

Onomah scored his first and only Spurs goal in a 5-0 League Cup win over Gillingham last season.

      Everything he writes is all total utter rubbish
      Steve please take up golf Kabbadi thank you.
      You really need to move on

    • if you actually bother to do a bit of research;
      1. Swansea had the second one worst defensive record. (Not the worst)
      2. Mawson only became a regular after the arrival of clement. (Which coincided with swanseas defensive record vastly improving and results vastly improving)

    • You obviously no nothing about Alfie Mawson as a player based on that comment. You only know that we had one of the worst defenses but that was because of the previous 2 managers. Under Paul Clement he proved to be an exceptional center half and started on the Euro U21 team very recently.

  1. Mawson started under Guidolin, went away to under 21s missed 2 games and came back on the bench. He thenplayed again for Guidolin before playing every game under Bradley and Clement. Only when Fernandez was playing regularly (early days with Guidolin when we were drawing, winning or losing narrowly & under Curtis and Clement) did our defence look anything but dire.
    Mawson is no where near as good as he’s been made out to be, he has potential but needs strong players around him.

  2. Re:ROSS THE TOOTH FLOSS! Research he says??Who d fuck wants to spend their glorious life researching SWANSEA!!! Try and find a life somewhere u melt.We have plenty youth players and fringe who could walk into swanseas first team so we don’t need Mawson or any other over rated defender for that matter.We have the best young team in the league by a mile,we need more European experience in there for Europe this year,enough said.Change your name ya plank because you reek of sadness and insecurity ROSS THE BOSS?

  3. Under no circumstance should we be loaning out Josh O. He is good enough to be on the first team. His commanding display in the WC final showed me a much more confident and stronger midfielder than I had seen before. Josh has grown up and is now mature enough to train seriously along side Dembele and I dare say can be Moussa’s equal at an earlier age. Watching J O take the ball with his back to the defence then quickly spin around and dribble the ball forward, attacking the spaces was classic Dembele. I loved it! Choosing Josh now to be on our Spurs first team will boost his confidence levels, thus give him the drive to train hard and enjoy his development. Do not encourage this fine young talent to leave Spurs by ‘loaning’ him out. Bring him in, don’t leave him out.
