Leicester manager Craig Shakespeare has told Tottenham and Everton target Damarai Gray he will get more game time this season amid rumours of the winger’s exit.
The 21-year-old’s future is believed to be dependent on whether he will play more this term after a stop-start campaign for the Foxes.
In quotes published by The Leicester Mercury, Shakespeare said: “I have spoke to him. I understand the frustration of young players expecting and wanting more time, but on the other hand they have to be respectful of their team-mates and who is in front of them.
“Hopefully he can get more game time. He’s a player of huge potential who is rated very highly here among the coaching staff and his own players.
“He’s a young lad and I understand the frustrations but hopefully this season we will see him playing more.”
Tottenham are in need of a winger so that they can change their attacking system when needed this season. Gray would be a decent acquisition, but Everton might be able offer him a better chance of regular football.
