Everton are keen on signing Moussa Sissoko on loan, as are several other English clubs, according to reports in France.

Sissoko very nearly joined Everton before Tottenham swooped right at the end of last year’s summer transfer window.

Spurs paid Newcastle United £30 million for the Frenchman, who endured a difficult first season at White Hart Lane.

The 27-year-old rarely started and was often only used as a late substitute, leading to rumours of a lukewarm relationship with manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Sissoko is expected to leave Tottenham in the coming weeks, with Marseille being touted as the most likely destination.

But French outlet L’Equipe (spotted by Sport Witness) claims a number of Premier League clubs have expressed an interest in taking Sissoko on loan.

Everton are the only club named in the report. The Merseysiders are apparently keen on a loan as they see a permanent deal as risky at this point.

The story also suggests Ligue 1 side Lyon hold an interest, but nothing concrete.
