Tottenham expect Erik Lamela to make full return to the first-team squad by the end of the year, according to the London Evening Standard.

Lamela has been out of action since last October, almost a year ago now.

The Argentine underwent surgery on both hips earlier this year and is still in the rehabilitation process.

He was left out of Spurs’ squad for the group stages of the Champions League earlier this week, fuelling speculation that he isn’t in Mauricio Pochettino’s plans this this season.

But Tottenham make it through the group, they can make three changes to their squad. If Lamela is fit, he’ll probably make the list for the knockout stages.
